Malthouse Geelong; The Former Corio Distillery

The Old Corio Distillery

The Old Corio Distillery

A New Life

This is the old Corio Distillery, situated 35 Lowe St Corio, (at the Toorak end). The Corio Distillery has sadly been under utilised for the last five years, but a new culture is about to evolve.

Ian Ballis  – who brought us The Mill Markets and The Powerhouse Geelong – is on a mission to bring life back into this gorgeous Art Deco 1920s building.

While we grieve that The Powerhouse (opposite The Federal Mills) closed its doors this week, Ian has plans to duplicate the project at The Corio Distillery, under the new brand of Malthouse Geelong.

A Space For Local Artists & Vintage Wares

Great news for the hundreds of street artists who get a second chance to delight us with their art once again.

The Vintage Warehouse currently located in Brougham St will also occupy space within the precinct.

Launch parties have already been scheduled for the venue, which promises to develop into a world class arts and cultural precinct. The Malthouse will be a trendy, social hub for artists, classic car lovers, antique hunters and of course, ORGANIC FUSIONS events.

The first event scheduled by ORGANIC FUSIONS at The Malthouse is a Street Art Masterclass where Ian Ballis will be teaching the colourful art of graffiti. View the calendar of events for further details. The best part? ORGANIC FUSIONS is free to join.
